A pair of elderly men are facing charges after an undercover operation revealed a cocaine trafficking operation at a Miami home, authorities said.
Cesar Valdes, 89, and Magdaleno Medina, 73, were arrested Wednesday on charges of armed trafficking in cocaine, cocaine possession with intent to sell or deliver, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a location for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, according to arrest reports.
According to the reports, an undercover investigator made a cocaine purchase from Medina at a residence on Northwest 19th Street last month.
On Wednesday, Miami Police’s Special Investigation Section and SWAT executed a search warrant at the home, arresting Valdes and Medina.
A search of the property yielded dozens of baggies containing over 140 grams of cocaine, more than a dozen baggies containing over 1,275 grams of marijuana, two weapons, ammunition, and $4,880 in cash, according to reports.
According to the reports, a record check revealed that both firearms had been reported stolen.
Valdes denied any involvement in drug transactions at home, according to the reports.
Both individuals, who authorities said are convicted felons, were placed into jail.
They appeared before a judge on Thursday and were ordered jailed without bond. They also have immigration holds.
