ESF crews battle overnight mill fire on Milliron Road, scene set to stay active for days

Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) crews pulled an all-nighter and pushed through into the morning hours, joining a countywide mutual aid response to tackle a mill fire at 29229 Milliron Road in Eugene, Oregon.

ESF deployed Battalion 2, Brush 8, Ladder 6, and Engine 7 to back up the Junction City Fire Department (JCFD) in their efforts to get the blaze under control.

Firefighting agencies from both Lane and Linn counties showed up to the scene, joining forces to bring the fire under control.

ESF reports that the scene will likely stay active for several more days as crews push through mop-up operations. During this phase, firefighters are targeting remaining hot spots and carefully checking for lingering fire hazards to keep the fire from flaring back up.

At this time, the department has not shared additional details regarding the cause of the fire, the full extent of the damage, or any potential injuries.
