Massachusetts Woman Scoops $2 Million Payout from Scratch Ticket

Susana Lausana of Lynn became one of Massachusetts’ most recent lottery winners. The Bay State Lottery confirmed in an official statement that the woman purchased and won a $2,000,000 prize from a scratch-off ticket, which included the standard image of the giant check and the winner.

Lausana purchased her ticket at D&M Variety, located at 99 Commercial St in Lynn, to play the $2,000,000 50X Cashword fast ticket game, and she knew she had won the grand prize right away. Lausana would receive $1.3 million before taxes if she chooses the lump payment option.

Most lottery winners choose the lump sum over annuity payments, believing that the lump sum alone may be invested immediately and hence pay out more profits than periodic installments could ever deliver.

Lausana did not reveal much about her plans for the future, but she did say she would use some of her winnings to improve her home and had already scheduled a vacation to Florida. Following her victory, there is just one grand prize remaining in the $2,000,000 50X Cashword game.
