Oregon representatives are requesting more information about ApolloMD, the company set to manage Emergency Department services at PeaceHealth RiverBend.

PeaceHealth recently announced that Atlanta-based ApolloMD will staff its emergency room, ending its contracts with local provider Eugene Emergency Physicians.

In a letter released Tuesday to ApolloMD and PeaceHealth leaders, Oregon representatives Ben Bowman, Nancy Nathanson and Lisa Fragala asked ApolloMD to submit documentation confirming that its Oregon medical practice complies with Senate Bill 951 — a new law intended to limit corporate control over medical decisions.

The law strengthens protections to ensure licensed physicians, not corporate owners, direct clinical care.

ApolloMD said it is reviewing the request and plans to respond to the Oregon House of Representatives.
