The Siuslaw National Forest is seeking applicants to fill four permanent wildland firefighting positions to support fire engine operations across Oregon’s coastal forests.
Applications will be accepted from March 10 through March 20 on USAJobs.gov. The open positions include Supervisory Fire Engine Operator, Fire Engine Operator, Assistant Fire Engine Operator and Senior Firefighter. Some roles will be based in Alsea, while others will be located in Corvallis.
Officials say the positions play an important role in wildfire response and maintaining forest health in the region.
“We’re building a team of dedicated firefighters who are committed to protecting Oregon’s coastal forests,” said Zone Fire Management Officer Dan Crowell. “We’re looking for motivated individuals who work well in teams and are ready to use their skills in one of the region’s most challenging landscapes.”
The positions are open to U.S. citizens or nationals who are at least 18 years old. More information about the jobs and application process is available on the Siuslaw National Forest hiring webpage.
