A man previously dubbed the “I-5 Flasher” has been arrested in Oregon after a new allegation of indecent exposure while driving along Interstate 5, authorities confirmed.
According to Oregon State Police, 59-year-old Charles Porter from Beaverton was taken into custody on March 18 following a complaint from a woman motorist. The incident reportedly occurred near Woodburn, where the woman told officers that Porter drove alongside her vehicle, matched her speed, and engaged in inappropriate behavior while staring at her.
The victim quickly contacted law enforcement, leading officers to locate and arrest Porter at his workplace in Woodburn. He was later booked into the Marion County Jail and charged with public indecency.
History of Similar Offenses
Porter is not new to such allegations. He previously gained notoriety in Washington state for similar behavior on highways, where he allegedly targeted women drivers. Reports indicate he was convicted in both 2007 and 2010 for repeatedly exposing himself and harassing motorists, resulting in jail time.
Current Legal Status
After his recent arrest in Oregon, Porter was released from custody after posting 10% of his $10,000 bail. Authorities have not disclosed further details about upcoming court proceedings.
Ongoing Concerns
The case raises renewed concerns about repeat offenders and public safety on highways. Law enforcement continues to urge drivers to report suspicious or threatening behavior immediately to ensure quick response and prevent further incidents.
