The body of a 20-year-old man who had been missing since April 6 after the car he was riding in crashed into the Willamette River has “been brought home,” one of his parents shared on social media.

The parent’s post came after the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that crews had recovered a body from the river near the spot where four people in a Toyota Corolla went into the water last week. Officials have not released the person’s identity and had not done so as of Monday morning.

The missing man’s parent said on Facebook that the family had been working with Bend-based nonprofit Oregon Rescue Divers to locate his body. The group told KATU News on Sunday that it discovered a body in the river that morning “matching the description of the last missing person from the vehicle crash.”

In a Sunday social media post, the parent thanked the group for “finding him and bringing him home.”

A 17-year-old who was in the car survived. Divers recovered the bodies of two others, ages 19 and 17, last week. All three were from Beavercreek.
