Volunteer volleyball coach charged after allegedly sending explicit messages to Lebanon student

A volunteer assistant volleyball coach in the Lebanon Community School District has been  charged with luring a minor after allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a student, according to police.

Alyssa Joan Baker, 20, of Sweet Home, is accused of sending “explicit and inappropriate” messages in 2025 to a volleyball player she had coached earlier that year, Lebanon police said.

Authorities did not disclose the age of the student, only noting that the individual was a member of the school district’s volleyball program.

Police said a parent discovered the messages and reported them to authorities on Oct. 31. By the time the investigation began, the volleyball season had already ended and Baker was no longer serving as a volunteer coach.

Baker was arrested in February after a grand jury indicted her on one count of luring a minor, police said. However, available Oregon court records currently do not show the indictment under her name.

Officials with the Lebanon Community School District did not respond to requests for comment, and Baker could not be reached.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact Officer Romeo Herrejon at 541-258-4317.
