The Oregon Ducks women’s basketball are heading back to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament for the second consecutive season.
Oregon, which finished the regular season 22–12 overall and 8–10 in conference play, earned a No. 8 seed and will face Virginia Tech Hokies women’s basketball, the tournament’s No. 9 seed, in the opening round.
The game is scheduled for March 20 in Austin.

The winner of the matchup will move on to the Round of 32 and face the winner between Texas Longhorns women’s basketball, the No. 1 seed and host team, and either Missouri State Lady Bears basketball or Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks basketball, who meet as No. 16 seeds.

The Ducks are led by sophomore standouts Katie Fiso, a point guard, and Ehis Etute, who have played central roles in Oregon’s return to the national tournament.
Virginia Tech enters after ACC tournament loss
Virginia Tech heads into the tournament with a 23–9 record and a 12–6 mark in conference play. The Hokies most recently competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by North Carolina Tar Heels women’s basketball.
