A road rage incident in Sweet Home, Oregon, ended in a dramatic crash after a speeding vehicle went airborne and rolled multiple times, according to the Sweet Home Police Department.
High-Speed Crash Leaves Vehicle Flipped
The crash occurred around 9:18 a.m. on April 4 at the intersection of Main Street and First Avenue. Responding officers found a gold 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer overturned on its roof, partially blocking the roadway.
The driver, identified as Justin Russell Jr., 22, of Monroe, reported minor pain but declined hospital transport after being evaluated by emergency personnel at the scene.
Car Went Airborne After Leaving Road
Investigators determined that Russell was traveling eastbound on Main Street when his SUV veered off the road and struck a rock retaining wall at Clover Memorial Park.
The impact caused the vehicle to launch into the air, clear a creek embankment, and roll multiple times before coming to rest upside down.
Witnesses Report Speeding Before Crash
Witnesses told police the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed as he entered the west city limits of Sweet Home just before the crash.
The incident caused property damage to infrastructure belonging to the Oregon Department of Transportation and the City of Sweet Home.

Russell told officers he had been involved in a road rage confrontation with the driver of a red pickup truck along Highway 20 between Sweet Home and Lebanon prior to the crash.
