we received video of a possible tornado that moved through Deschutes County on Saturday, April 11.
Truck driver Sarah Bennett recorded the video while traveling west toward Tumalo.
“Just about to come into the town of Tumalo when it started hailing heavily and cars started slowing,” Bennett said. “I realized what I believed was a tornado crossing the road.”
we reached out to the National Weather Service forecast office in Pendleton to find out whether it has received any additional reports of a tornado in the area.
According to Storm Tracker 2 Doppler radar, a strong shower moved over the Tumalo area at the time the video was recorded.
The station could not confirm it was a tornado due to the lack of nearby weather radar coverage. Both the Portland and Medford radars—positioned more than 125 miles away—detected the storm, but only at elevations as low as about 11,000 feet.
