The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck an area northeast of Tonopah, Nevada, on Monday evening.
The quake occurred around 7:39 p.m., impacting a region north of Warm Springs, Nevada, and roughly 50 miles east of Tonopah, which lies more than 200 miles north of Las Vegas.
As many as four aftershocks were recorded in the area following the earthquake shortly after 7:40 p.m., according to the USGS.
