Two livestreamers were detained Thursday morning in downtown Tulsa after receiving an alleged swatting call.
Police said they got a complaint of a bomb threat at 211 North Elgin Avenue. While officers were responding, the caller claimed to be near Avery Kitchen and Bar with a bomb strapped to his chest and a pistol, threatening to shoot people until officers “come and get him.”
According to police, the caller later stated that he was standing in a parking garage near red doors. When authorities arrived at the garage, they found four persons exiting while conducting a livestream.
Officers attempted to engage with the group, but they declined and continued to walk away. The four people were then held pending additional investigation.
During the inquiry, officers discovered that Noah Boswell, 23, had an outstanding felony warrant. According to investigators, Boswell was arrested on allegations that included threatening to commit violence.
Another person, 19-year-old Trevor Brinkley, was detained for an unrelated city warrant. The remaining two people were discharged without incident. Investigators ultimately found that the event was a swatting call and that there was no further threat to the public or officers. Police say the inquiry is still ongoing.
