Deputies arrested three people suspected of being involved in two violent altercations in West Hollywood last week.
The separate incidents occurred on May 13 and 14 at businesses in the 8800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.
During the May 14 incident, arriving deputies discovered that two suspects were fighting when an innocent victim attempted to intercede. The victim was hurt during the altercation and brought to a nearby hospital.
Police said both individuals, who were not identified, had been arrested. There were no updates on the victim’s condition.
On May 13, deputies responded to a commercial incident involving a suspect who allegedly smacked a victim and made threats inside the establishment.
“After being removed by security, the suspect allegedly threw glass and other items at patrons and later became involved in a fight with a pedestrian outside the business,” the Sheriff’s Department reported.
Authorities also apprehended the suspect.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed felony charges in both cases, according to authorities.
The incidents followed a third West Hollywood incident that occurred just days before. On May 10, a brawl broke out between two street sellers near the intersection of Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevards.
The incident heightened local business owners’ concerns about illegal street vendors working on public sidewalks. They are dissatisfied with the lack of action taken to regulate the merchants.
