PORTLAND, Ore. — The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office has identified a semi-truck driver nearly a day after releasing video footage of a rollover hit-and-run crash along the Interstate 84 corridor in the Columbia River Gorge.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the eastbound lanes about a half-mile west of the Dalton Point Recreation Site.

Video released Wednesday of the crash shows the driver of a blue or purple semi-truck and trailer swerving into the right lane and colliding with a commercial water truck.

The water truck then veered off the roadway and rolled into a wooded area along I-84.

On Thursday, officials identified the driver and said he is “being cooperative” with the crash investigation.

Authorities said the case remains open, and no citations had been issued as of Thursday.
