Two more offenders involved in a downtown Cincinnati riot that received global notice last summer were sentenced Wednesday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.
The brawl, which took place in July 2025, went viral after recordings were shared on social media showing numerous people attacking a guy and woman named Holly during a chaotic street altercation.
Aisha DeVaughn was sentenced to six months in River City Correctional Center, followed by four years on probation.
Before being sentenced, DeVaughn accepted responsibility for her acts.
“I am committed to following every requirement of my sentence,” she told the court. “I am already ready to prove that I can learn from this experience and contribute positively to my community.”
Prosecutors claimed DeVaughn joined the violence despite not being involved in the original dispute.
“The attack against these people was brutal,” an associate prosecutor stated. “She saw an opportunity and for some reason she made the decision she wanted to inject herself.”
According to authorities, DeVaughn repeatedly stomped and kicked victim Alex Tchervinski while he was already on the ground.
Judge Virginia Tallent also read a statement from Tchervinski, who claimed he suffered a concussion and substantial head trauma that lasted months after the attack. He stated that he continues to struggle in crowded environments.
Gregory Wright, the second defendant, was sentenced to three years probation and 200 hours of community service after pleading guilty to taking a necklace during the incident.
“I want to apologize to the victims, to my family,” Wright stated. “I learned from my mistakes and I promise you I won’t let it happen again.”
Court records show that Wright later returned the necklace.
Several cases relating to the brawl are still ongoing. Jermaine Mathews’ sentence has been continued, while Dominique Kittle and Patrick Rosemond’s trials have been postponed as they seek new counsel.
Montianez Merriweather was sentenced to ten months in jail last month, although he earned credit for time served. Dekyra Vernon was sentenced to probation.
A previous minor assault complaint against Tchervinski was dismissed because two witnesses failed to appear in court.
