A Bronx woman was charged with identity theft and larceny on Tuesday for allegedly carrying out two bogus transactions at separate Hartford County banks on the same day in 2024.

Wethersfield police charged Precious Mills, 41, with third-degree larceny, second-degree forgery, third-degree identity theft, and criminal impersonation.

According to Wethersfield police, Mills made a false $3,500 withdrawal at the M&T Bank on the 1000 block of Silas Deane Highway on December 4, 2024. Mills was arrested for a similar event in Glastonbury on the same day.

An arrest warrant application was presented and authorized by the New Britain Superior Court, with full extradition ordered.

Mills was in the custody of the New York Port Authority Police Department, which announced on August 7 that she would be imprisoned on Rikers Island, New York. Mills renounced her extradition on Monday.

She was transferred from Rikers Island to Wethersfield Police Headquarters, where she was charged.

Mills was detained on a $10,000 bond. She is expected to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Wednesday.
