UPDATE: According to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD), two people were dead in a shooting that occurred just before 4 a.m. on the 900 block of E. Rim at Tom Lea Upper Park.
When police arrived at the park, they discovered two bodies.
According to an EPPD representative, a group of people were in the park when an unidentifiable car arrived, prompting at least two persons to shoot. The vehicle then fled the scene, according to the spokeswoman.
Police are still investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers of El Paso, which can remain anonymous.
ORIGINAL: The Crimes Against Persons Unit is looking into a gunshot at 900 E. Rim in Central El Paso.
The shooting took place near El Paso High School, according to authorities.
They say the call came in shortly before 4 a.m.
