Bicyclist struck and killed in Niles

A bicyclist died Saturday evening in Niles after colliding with a vehicle.

Police responded shortly after 6:45 p.m. to a report of a crash near the junction of Harts and Riverside.

According to authorities, a 52-year-old man was riding his bike on the North Branch Trail. A vehicle struck the man in the Harts Road crosswalk.

The driver remained on the scene, and the bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Police stated the driver showed no symptoms of impairment.
