Two southern Indiana students were taken into custody Thursday after threatening a school, according to Greater Clark County Schools authorities.

Superintendent Mark Laughner said the inquiry began around 1:15 p.m., when Jeffersonville High School’s front office personnel got a threatening voicemail. School authorities promptly alerted the school resource officer and Jeffersonville police, who began an investigation.

Authorities quickly determined that the threat originated from two pupils from another school in the district. Officials apprehended both students within minutes and took them into custody.

Investigators also discovered that many other schools and local businesses in the region had received identical threats.

Officials have not revealed the identities of the students involved. The incident is still under investigation.
