A Toledo man convicted of murder in the blunt-force death of an infant this summer has been sentenced to life in prison.

Alexander Butler, 24, will serve a life sentence for causing the death of 11-month-old Winsley Raymundo, with parole eligibility after 15 years, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Eric Marks ruled on Monday. He received credit for 287 days previously served in prison.

Butler’s charges of aggravated murder, endangering children, and felonious assault were dismissed as part of his April Alford plea agreement.

In July 2025, authorities discovered Winsley injured at home and transported her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Butler said the injury was accidental, but court filings show his story contradicted medical evaluations.
