The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating a gunshot outside a Superior Avenue eatery that left two teenagers hospitalized.

At 1:30 p.m., officers from the Third District responded to a report of shots fired in the 3000 block of Superior Avenue, near Superior Pho. “When officers arrived, they discovered two victims with gunshot wounds, a 14-year-old male and an 18-year-old male,” officials said. “Officers promptly provided first aid until Cleveland EMS arrived on scene. Both patients were taken to the hospital and are now listed in stable condition.

At the time of the incident, the restaurant was wrapping up lunch service and had roughly a dozen people inside, including diners and employees.

According to a 3News employee who witnessed the shooting, patrons inside the restaurant fled to the kitchen for safety or huddled beneath tables after hearing multiple loud explosions.

Three restaurant diners who sat near the front window witnessed sections of the incident firsthand. When asked how they were doing, one customer said they had “lost their appetite.”

Police claimed several shot casings were discovered in front of the restaurant’s entryway. Investigators cordoned off a big piece of the area and were seen scouring properties near the restaurant plaza while the inquiry progressed.
