The four men charged with robbing a Toledo gas station at gunpoint last month and leading police on a vehicle chase into and out of Michigan have been indicted in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
According to court documents, four Toledo men, Demarcus Gilmer, 19, Jessie Gilmer, 18, Anton Caldwell, 19, and Odarrius Brown, 20, were each charged with one felony count of aggravated robbery with a firearm and one felony count of tampering with evidence with a firearm specification. Additionally, Brown is charged with failure to comply with a firearm specification, a third-degree felony.
The bond was set at $150,000 for each of the men.
According to Toledo police, the chase began early on May 26 when officers were summoned to a Circle K gas station on Lewis Avenue, just north of Laskey Road.
Police had spotted a vehicle linked to the crime near Laskey and Bennett roads when officers attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver refused to stop, resulting in a high-speed chase.
The chase passed through west Toledo before crossing the state line into Michigan. The suspects eventually crossed back into Ohio.
The incident ended when spike strips were deployed around 3:30 a.m., bringing the vehicle to a stop near the Larchmont Estates area.
