A Clermont woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting an employee and guests at an apartment complex pool.

Deputies came to The Orchard at Cagan Crossings, 541 Avenida Cuarta, Clermont, around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, for reports of 38-year-old Mally Alejandra Posada chasing and attacking people in the pool area, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Posada exited the pool area as law enforcement arrived, and they observed that she appeared inebriated. She slurred her words and didn’t react coherently to basic questions. She also had a distinct alcohol odour, according to the report.

Another poolgoer reported seeing Posada spit at the pool guy while attempting to close down the area. She pursued and attacked the pool man, who fled before she began attacking a married couple. According to the complaint, she pulled the first victim’s hair, threw her to the ground, jumped on top of her, and strangled her.

Her wife attempted to intervene, but Posada shoved and slapped her in reaction. Other persons in the pool area attempted to break them up and requested assistance from police enforcement, according to the complaint.

The deputy then spoke with the first victim, who indicated that she observed Posada attack the pool attendant. She was packing things to depart when Posada approached the couple and attempted to steal their items. She urged Posada not to do that, and she grabbed her hair, according to the report.

Posada seized the victim by the neck with both hands after throwing her to the ground, causing abrasions and lacerations on both knees and her left foot. According to the complaint, she then bit her left ear, causing great discomfort, and applied enough pressure to cut off her breathing.

The victim’s wife attempted to defend herself, but Posada struck her and held her down on the pool deck. She was able to escape and phone 911, according to the report.

Prior to these interviews, Posada refused to follow simple instructions to remain seated away from the other participants. However, after the officers handcuffed her, she refused to walk to the patrol vehicle or get in. She slipped her cuffs in front of her, unbuckled her seatbelt, and entirely broke free from one cuff. According to the complaint, the deputies had to use flexible wrist restraints and leg shackles to keep her from getting free inside the back of the police vehicle.

Posada was eventually charged with battery by strangulation, simple battery, disorderly intoxication, and resisting without violence. The New York native was detained at Lake County Jail without bond.
