Maple Heights man discovered shot dead in car in Cleveland

A man was discovered shot to death inside a vehicle early Thursday, June 18, on Cleveland’s east side.

Around 1:15 a.m., officers arrived to the 12100 block of Lenacrave Avenue after a ShotSpotter detected gunfire in the area.

When cops arrived, they discovered a victim inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound, according to FOX 8 crews on the scene.

The victim was pronounced deceased.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Johnny Coleman Scott, 41, of Maple Heights.

As investigators inspected the crime scene Thursday morning, they identified many shot casings and a cellphone in the street as evidence.

Police have not reported any arrests or named any suspects. The circumstances behind the shooting remain under investigation.
