Police apprehended a 14-year-old boy in connection with a Boston shooting that injured a minor.
According to a police statement, the boy was apprehended at a property on Mt. Pleasant Street in Dorchester about 12:44 p.m. on Thursday. Officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force took him into arrest.
The boy faces charges of assault and battery by firearm discharge, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a covert/undetectable firearm, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm.
On May 6, police responded to a complaint of a shooting at a home on Milton Avenue in Dorchester. At the site, authorities discovered a 14-year-old girl with a gunshot wound.
According to authorities, two boys attempted to flee through a back door. One of the youngsters was carrying a handgun and was detained on the spot. A following inquiry resulted in the second arrest on Thursday.
The woman was transported to a hospital and has since recovered from her injuries, according to authorities.
