An 18-year-old who killed an adolescent at the age of 16 was sentenced to 20 to 25.5 years in prison on Wednesday.
Carlleeyon Anderson is now eighteen. He was scheduled to be tried as an adult on murder and many felonious assault charges, but instead pleaded guilty to a reduced involuntary manslaughter charge and one count of felonious assault.
Ja’mir Thompkins, 15, was slain, while another boy was struck but survived. Ja’mir was an athlete at Dohn Community High School, and his mother described him as a straight A student.
