Man discovered shot dead in Canton parking lot

Police are investigating after a man was discovered dead with a gunshot wound Tuesday morning in a Canton parking lot.

Canton Police Chief John Gabbard said police and paramedics were summoned at 7 a.m. to the 900 block of Alan Page Drive SE in response to a 911 report regarding a person beside a vehicle.

First responders discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound to his lower back. The individual was pronounced deceased on the scene. He has not been identified.

Investigators are working to identify the victim and uncover the circumstances of the shooting.
