A 28-year-old Polk City man was taken into custody on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after police discovered he traveled to Pennsylvania to pick up a 16-year-old girl he met online and returned her to his Polk County home.
Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrested Jordan Becker after the victim’s brother filed a missing person report earlier that day. According to an arrest affidavit, the sibling informed investigators that he believed the teenager was with Becker in Florida after meeting him through online video games.
According to the affidavit, Becker contacted the victim through her brother’s online gaming connections and maintained communication with her before coming to Pennsylvania in June to pick her up. Becker told detectives he regarded the adolescent to be his girlfriend.
When PCSO deputies found Becker and the victim at his Polk City home on July 21, Becker admitted he was aware the girl was underage. He revealed to law enforcement agents that he had had sexual relations with her at least three times.
The victim informed deputies that she didn’t tell her mother she was leaving because she was afraid she would be offended. Her family believed she was staying with a friend in Pennsylvania.
“He drove all the way to Pennsylvania and brought her back to Polk County,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. “This is a terrifying situation that could have easily gone far worse. It serves as a sharp reminder of the importance of properly monitoring their children’s online behavior. The victim’s brother did the right thing by contacting us.
Becker was taken into Polk County Jail on various charges, including three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a juvenile, travel to meet a minor, contributing to a child’s delinquency, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and interference with parental custody.
