A Central Florida woman won $1 million while playing a scratch-off game.

The Florida Lottery just announced that Jean Olsen of Orange County won the $1 million prize in the $1,000,000 Cash Stacks scratch-off game.

The Apopka woman chose to receive her prize in one lump sum payment of $616,700.

The Central Florida woman bought her winning ticket at Publix, which is located at 1545 Rock Springs Road in Apopka, near Orlando.

She claimed her award at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

The $1,000,000 Cash Stacks scratch-off game costs $5 and offers players the chance to win up to $1,000,000, with over $48 million in total cash prizes. According to the Florida Lottery, only two top rewards remain.

The overall odds of winning are 1:3.95.

Scratch-off games are a key part of the lottery’s range of games, accounting for over 74% of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Furthermore, since their establishment, scratch-off games have paid out more than $70.8 billion in prizes, created 2,475 millionaires, and raised more than $20.98 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

The Florida Lottery is responsible for more than $49 billion in education funding and sending over 983,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The Florida Lottery reinvests 99 percent of its revenue back into the state’s economy through prize payouts, commissions to over 13,550 lottery merchants, and educational transfers. Since 1988, Florida Lottery games have given out over $104.8 billion in prizes, making more than 4,475 millionaires.
