A pregnant Wildwood woman in the process of dyeing her hair was arrested late Thursday night after reportedly tracking down her ex-boyfriend at another woman’s residence and repeatedly ramming his vehicle during a jealous chase.

Mya Rosealin Salas, 24, who lives with her ex-boyfriend at The Wilds apartments in Wildwood, was wearing a hairnet over her recently dyed hair and a long pink shirt soiled with hair dye when Leesburg police officers apprehended her in the parking lot of the Walmart on Citrus Boulevard.

According to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department, the tumultuous line of events began when Salas developed a “hunch” that her ex-boyfriend was seeing someone else. The couple, who had been in an on-and-off romance for five years, apparently broke up for good that morning. The ex-boyfriend claimed to police he had been sleeping on the couch of their one-bedroom apartment for a time and simply wanted to co-parent amicably once their child was born.

The ex-boyfriend informed police that he had attended a basketball tournament that afternoon before going to another woman’s home in Leesburg’s Stock community to change into work clothes.

Meanwhile, Salas, who is six months pregnant, was dying her hair at her sister’s house when her intuition kicked in. She got into her car, hairnet and all, and drove straight to the Leesburg residence. She knocked on the door, found him inside, and confronted him.

Trying to avoid “any drama,” the ex-boyfriend got into his car and drove to work. Salas, on the other hand, pursued him fiercely down several roads. She eventually struck his vehicle numerous times with her own, causing the horrified ex-boyfriend to dial 911 while still being pursued.

When authorities stopped the pair in the Walmart parking lot about 11:40 p.m., Salas was exceedingly calm but unclear in his responses. She claimed she didn’t wear her spectacles and accidentally hit his car when he slowed down.

The ex-boyfriend informed officers that they argued almost every day. He stated that Salas works as an officer for the Groveland Police Department and that since she received her badge, her demeanor has changed, and she has acted as if she were “above the law.”

He informed officers that he didn’t want to seek charges; he only hoped that the presence of law enforcement would make her “see sense” and leave him alone.

Salas was arrested on felony counts of domestic aggravated violence with a dangerous weapon and domestic aggravated stalking. The New York native was booked into the Lake County Jail.
