A Leesburg woman was apprehended on violence charges after reportedly beating her girlfriend with a hat after an argument.

An officer responded to a disturbance at an unidentified Leesburg residence around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. According to Dispatch, 24-year-old Lilyanna Rose Quinn may have thrown something at her lover and cornered her.

When the officer arrived, he heard an active dispute between two women at the front screened-in porch. Quinn told her girlfriend to “stop,” and the officer directed them to separate. He then saw a small, new laceration under the girlfriend’s left eye, according to the complaint.

Quinn revealed that they had been dating for roughly six months and lived together for five of them. They’d been arguing about an event that occurred on Tuesday. During the fight, her girlfriend proceeded to drink and curse at her, according to the report.

She attempted to separate herself by entering other rooms, but her girlfriend quickly followed her. She was still walking when her girlfriend hurled pill bottles at her, but none of them struck her. She also grabbed a bottle of vodka from her girlfriend’s hand, only to have it kicked out of her reach. Quinn then took her girlfriend’s hat and began striking her with it because she was “angry,” according to the complaint.

Quinn had recorded two videos of the incident, neither of which showed her girlfriend throwing objects or yelling without Quinn arguing back. According to the allegation, one video shows Quinn entering a room and exiting quickly after her girlfriend begins walking away.

The police then spoke with the girlfriend. She informed them that the pair had been arguing about the incident from the previous day while painting their house. According to the complaint, she was holding a bottle of vodka when Quinn seized it from her, claiming she had drank too much.

Quinn’s girlfriend kicked the bottle out of his hand, prompting Quinn to remove her hat and slap her in the face numerous times with it. She didn’t know how many times she was struck. She admitted to drinking alcohol but denied touching or throwing anything at Quinn, according to the report.

The girlfriend dropped the tablets on the ground because she was unhappy at Quinn, and they belonged to her. However, she did not hurl them at Quinn, according to the story.

Quinn was eventually arrested for simple battery (domestic). The North Carolina native was booked into Lake County Jail and released after posting a $1,000 bond.
