A man was detained and is facing federal charges after being accused of robbing two banks in downtown Miami just three days apart, according to court documents.
Oscar Elliot Bryant faces bank robbery charges stemming from incidents on October 23 and 26, 2026. In both incidents, authorities allege that Bryant got money from bank personnel through intimidation.
According to an affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint, the first robbery occurred on October 23 at First American Bank, located at 79 E. Flagler Street in downtown Miami.
Bryant is accused of taking money from an employee through intimidation while other bank employees were present.
Three days later, on October 26, a second heist was allegedly committed, this time at a Regions Bank branch at 265 SE 1st Street, also in Miami.
Images released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) show a person clothed in black inside the bank with a letter that reads, “You can make it hard or easy. “I just want 50s and 100s. I’ve got a gun beneath my jacket.”
Authorities found that there is probable cause to charge Bryant with both robberies under federal law, which punishes bank robberies. The allegedly stolen sum was not revealed.
