Police Investigate Churchill High Overdoses; Student Arrested

On This Post

New details have emerged following an incident earlier this month at Winston Churchill High School that sent two students to the hospital.

According to the Eugene Police Department, the students had overdosed on an unspecified illegal substance. One of the students has since been arrested.

The incident occurred Feb. 9 after a 9-1-1 call reported a student in distress at the school. Crews from Eugene Springfield Fire responded and discovered a second student who had also apparently overdosed.

Both students were transported to a hospital for treatment. Police said two additional students were evaluated at the scene.

The arrested student was booked on charges of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

The investigation remains ongoing.
