Police arrested a 31-year-old man following a shooting that left one person injured in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Southeast Portland.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, an adult man with a gunshot wound walked into a hospital in Southeast Portland Tuesday night. Hospital staff notified police shortly after 9 p.m. The victim, whose name has not been released, was reported to be stable, alert and able to speak with officers.
While at the hospital, officers learned the shooting may have occurred on Southeast 96th Avenue. Police responded to the area and identified Maquann Roseman as the suspected shooter.
Authorities later located Roseman at a residence in the 2100 block of Southeast 96th Avenue and arrested him around 11:30 p.m.
Roseman was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges including attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials also noted that Roseman does not appear to have any prior criminal convictions in Oregon.
