Firefighters quickly put out a structure fire at a home on the 35000 block of Rock Hill Drive in Lebanon early March 2, according to the Lebanon Fire District.
Crews were called to the scene just after 7:30 a.m. When the Battalion Chief arrived, light smoke was seen coming from the front door of the two-story house. Firefighters entered the building and located the fire in the kitchen area.
Additional crews assisted in extinguishing the flames by opening parts of the walls and the kitchen floor to fully reach the fire. Firefighters also conducted a thorough search of the building and confirmed that no one was inside.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators later determined the fire likely started from an overheated electrical RV plug located outside the structure. Officials said the building was being used as a storage space for the main residence.
The Lebanon Fire District also reminded residents about the importance of having working smoke alarms and said people needing assistance with smoke alarms can contact the department’s Fire & Life Safety Division.
