A jury in Lane County has convicted a 35-year-old man of sexually abusing a minor and providing illegal drugs, authorities said.
Conviction Details
Chasen Allan Macklin, of Springfield, was found guilty on multiple charges following a trial that concluded March 18.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 2.

The case began in January 2024 when a teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted, prompting an investigation by the Eugene Police Department.
Investigators determined that:
- Macklin provided the teen with LSD (a Schedule I controlled substance)
- The assault occurred in a vehicle in a department store parking lot
- The victim was under 18 years old
Arrest Incident
During a traffic stop on March 28, 2024, Macklin:
- Resisted arrest
- Attempted to flee before being taken into custody
Charges and Verdict
The jury convicted Macklin of:
- Two counts of second-degree sexual abuse
- Two counts of recklessly endangering another person
- Delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance to a minor
- First-degree escape
- Resisting arrest
He was also found guilty of unlawful contact with a child in a separate bench trial.
However, the jury:
- Found him not guilty on one additional sexual abuse charge
