Major Drug Trafficking Network Busted in Grants Pass

A large-scale law enforcement operation has dismantled a methamphetamine trafficking network operating across Oregon and California, resulting in multiple arrests and massive drug seizures.

The six-week investigation, led by the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team, targeted a group distributing meth from California into Southern Oregon.

Massive Drug Seizure Across Two States

Authorities seized more than 140 pounds of methamphetamine during the coordinated crackdown.

Key developments included:

  • A traffic stop on April 8 led to the arrest of Marshall Clifford De La Garza, 39
  • Officers discovered approximately 90 pounds of meth in his vehicle, allegedly being transported from Corning to Josephine County

Search Warrants Lead to More Arrests

On April 10, investigators executed multiple search warrants in Wolf Creek and Corning.

In Oregon, authorities arrested:

  • Johnny Dean Davis Jr., 43
  • Daniel Cody Green, 44
  • Stephen Ray Higgins, 56

They face charges including racketeering, drug delivery, and possession of methamphetamine.

California Arrest Uncovers Additional Drugs and Weapons

In Corning, the California Highway Patrol arrested Jesus Fernando Vega, 53.

A search of his residence uncovered:

  • 58 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 6 kilograms of cocaine
  • Over $227,000 in cash
  • Multiple firearms, including a machine gun

Multi-Agency Effort Targets Organized Crime

The operation involved several agencies, including:

  • Drug Enforcement Administration
  • Oregon State Police
  • Grants Pass Police Department
  • Jackson County Sheriff’s Office

The effort was supported by the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), which coordinates regional drug enforcement.

Ongoing Fight Against Drug Trafficking

Officials say the takedown highlights the importance of coordinated, multi-agency efforts in disrupting organized drug operations and protecting communities.
