Man Held Without Bail After Fatal Shooting in Rock Creek Apartment

A man accused of fatally shooting another person inside a Washington County apartment is being held without bail as the investigation continues.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 11 p.m. Friday to a shooting in the 19000 block of Northwest Mahama Way in the Rock Creek area.

Authorities said the suspect called 911 and reported that he had shot someone inside the apartment.

Deputies arrived within minutes and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim, 35-year-old Kenmani Adkins, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified the suspect as 26-year-old Stevon Bagnera. Detectives said the shooting happened after a disturbance involving multiple people.

Bagnera was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Officials said he is being held without bail while the investigation continues. Detectives have also executed a search warrant at the apartment.
