Police in Gladstone, Oregon say they have identified a suspect connected to a string of overnight vehicle tire slashings in the area.
The Gladstone Police Department initially released surveillance videos on Facebook Thursday morning, asking the public for help identifying a person seen in the footage.
Later that same day, officials reported that tips from community members helped investigators determine the identity of the individual shown in the videos.
Case referred for possible charges
According to Sgt. Eric Graves, officers have already interviewed the suspect. The case has now been forwarded to the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office for review.
If prosecutors decide to move forward, the suspect could face felony criminal mischief charges, authorities said.
Attacks appear random
Police noted that the incidents do not appear to have targeted specific vehicles or owners.
Officials also declined to release the suspect’s name while the case remains under review.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the damage to multiple vehicles.
