A network outage temporarily disrupted emergency and public services across parts of Central Oregon, affecting both Crook County and Jefferson County, officials said.
Service has since been restored as of Saturday night.
911 Access Issues in Crook County
According to Crook County 911, the outage prevented some landline calls from reaching emergency dispatch.
Residents were advised to:
- Call 911 using a cell phone if possible
- Use an alternate number if only landlines were available
Disruptions in Jefferson County
The outage also affected operations at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, including:
- Phone service outages at the jail and headquarters in Madras
- Temporary loss of internet services
- Suspension of card payments, with cash-only transactions required
Despite the issues, emergency dispatch services remained operational in Jefferson County.
Response and Restoration
Technicians worked to restore the affected systems, and officials confirmed that services were fully restored later that night.
