Skiers and snowboarders planning a midweek trip to Mount Bachelor will need to adjust their plans, as the resort announced a temporary closure due to incoming rain.
According to an update on the resort’s official mountain report, Mt. Bachelor will shut down operations on Wednesday to help preserve the existing snowpack amid wet weather conditions.
Temporary Closure to Protect Conditions
Resort officials said the decision was made proactively to maintain snow quality and ensure better conditions for the remainder of the season. Rain can significantly degrade snow surfaces, making preservation efforts critical.
Reopening Expected Thursday
The closure is expected to last just one day, with the mountain planning to reopen on Thursday, weather permitting.
Located near Bend, Mount Bachelor is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most popular winter destinations, known for its expansive terrain and consistent snowfall.
