A Portland man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his neighbor, claiming he believed she was trying to steal his cat.

Scott Thomsen, 47, was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred on Southeast Duke Street, according to police.

Officers arrived at the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting an assault. They found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds and significant blood loss.

The victim was rushed to surgery and was unable to provide a full statement at the time due to her condition.

According to court documents, Thomsen told his father he believed the victim was attempting to take his cat.
