A pair from Wildwood was arrested on drug charges after being detained at a Days Inn with pills and drugs.
A deputy stopped 34-year-old Eric Eugene Mobley and 43-year-old Chanara Toniele Rojas at the Days Inn on State Road 44 in Wildwood at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. He’d spotted their black BMW leave a Pilot petrol station without coming to a complete stop.
During the traffic check, the deputy detected marijuana odors from the vehicle’s inside. When asked about this, the passengers denied having marijuana in their possession. The report states that they were nevertheless requested to exit the vehicle for a search.
The officer began by searching a blue fanny pack in the backseat for many transparent plastic baggies containing cocaine and marijuana. The seat box directly in front of the backseat to the right included marijuana powder and a marijuana cigarette, according to the report.
Continuing, the deputy noticed a Louis Vuitton wallet stuck between the front passenger seat and the center console. It held a clear plastic baggie with ecstasy pills and additional marijuana. It also had Mobley’s driver’s license, according to the article.
Mobley was later arrested on allegations of possessing ecstasy, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center and released after paying a $4,500 bond.
Rojas was detained on suspicion of possessing cocaine, marijuana, and drug equipment, as well as failing to appear. She was likewise booked at the Bushnell jail.
