A man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Mississippi was apprehended Tuesday in Toledo by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities said Kenneth Edmond, 44, was arrested on May 12 in the 2300 block of Parkwood. Edmond was wanted on a homicide charge filed on April 29 in connection with the death of Wayne Lawrence, 26, in Mississippi.

Investigators claimed the homicide inquiry led them to Toledo, where task force officers found and arrested Edmond without incident.

During the operation, officials also apprehended two other people wanted for local warrants. Authorities identified them as Laundle Minor, 43, who was wanted by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office on narcotics charges, and Charles Pinson-Scott, 45, who was wanted by Toledo police for impeding court proceedings.

“This case shows the importance of our mission and the dedication of our officers to keep our communities safe by tracking dangerous, violent felons across the country and bringing them to justice,” US Marshal Pete Elliott said in a statement. “We hope this arrest brings closure to the victims in Mississippi.”
