Hamilton County prosecutors have filed narcotics charges against two individuals who were allegedly captured with hundreds of pounds of marijuana and thousands of THC capsules in their car.
The suspects, Ian Heath and Brenden Grubb, were accused on Tuesday of distributing marijuana worth at least ten pounds and possessing marijuana.
The Fishers Police Department says Hamilton and Boone County narcotics task teams launched the investigation in March after getting a tip about a Snapchat profile advertising marijuana and THC items.
Investigators swiftly identified Heath and Grubb as suspects, as well as a vehicle linked to one of the guys.
Detectives discovered the men’s vehicle on Interstate 69 shortly after recognizing them. Police stopped Heath and Grubb after they had committed repeated traffic offenses.
While halted, a Fishers K-9 officer and a drug dog conducted a free-air sniff around the vehicle, and the dog detected suspected narcotics inside.
Heath and Grubb were detained when authorities searched their vehicle and discovered 211 pounds of marijuana, five pounds of prerolled marijuana products, nearly 3,700 THC cartridges, and an undisclosed handgun.
Heath and Grubb were scheduled to appear in court for initial hearings at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
