Woman apprehended on warrants in Woonsocket

A woman was apprehended by state police after a traffic stop for multiple outstanding warrants.

Leandra Nunes, 35, of Woonsocket, was arrested at 1:28 p.m. on Carrington Avenue.

Nunes was wanted on three Providence Superior Court bench warrants, all issued by the Woonsocket Police Department.

The warrants included failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of domestic simple assault, failure to appear for a pre-arraignment conference on a charge of domestic simple assault, and failure to appear for a pre-arraignment conference on a charge of domestic criminal violation of a no-contact order.

Nunes was brought to the state police headquarters for processing.

She was later transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.
