An impatient villager was detained following an alleged attack on a T-Mobile store employee.
Casimir Francis Chmielnicki, 79, who resides in the Newport Villas in the Village of Largo, went to the phone store at Southern Trace Plaza on Sunday afternoon and complained about having to wait “for a long period of time”. According to an arrest record from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, he stated that he did not believe he was receiving the service he expected.
A T-Mobile employee reported that Chmielnicki was “belligerent” and “progressively became more verbally volatile.” The cashier claimed Chmielnicki, who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 200 pounds, got out of his chair and shoved him while he was attempting to assist the elderly guy.
Chmielnicki was arrested on the charge of assault. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Centre and released after posting a $1,000 bond.
