A second suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of a Thomson teenager.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Travis Moss, 22, was detained on Monday.
According to McDuffie County jail booking records, he has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
Moss’s charges stem from a shooting that killed 17-year-old Raheem Hampton.
According to McDuffie County Coroner Paul Johnson, the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Walnut Street, where Hampton was discovered with a gunshot wound.
Officials said law enforcement received a call just before 10 p.m. on January 17. Hampton was taken to Doctors Hospital and eventually died.
A second individual received treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Moss is the second suspect to be arrested in this case.
On January 18, Thomson resident Frederick Jennings Jr. was arrested and charged with criminal murder and aggravated assault.
The GBI claims that this is an ongoing inquiry.
