Victim discovered dead in Hamilton home identified as police investigate homicide

A victim has been identified in what Hamilton police now describe as a homicide investigation.

Vincent Singletary, 65, died of a gunshot wound, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

According to Hamilton police, at about 1:15 p.m. on June 5, officers were dispatched to an S. 12th Street home for a report of a non-responsive person inside.

The victim, now identified as Singletary, was dead and suffering from “trauma” when authorities arrived, according to police.

Hamilton police announced Monday that Singletary’s death is now being investigated as a homicide.

Police made no mention of a probable suspect.
